The Thomas M. Cooley Law School, located in Lansing, Michigan, is the largest law school in the United States. The Law School, founded in 1972 and accredited in 1978, presently has an enrollment of approximately 2,300 students, most of whom are earning the degree of Juris Doctor (J.D.). As of 2004, the Law School's faculty includes 95 full-time professors and 100 visiting or adjunct professors. Recently the school opened extension campuses in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Rochester, Michigan.
The School is named for the former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Thomas M. Cooley .
